This is an example of a synthetic CT imaging dataset created from an MRI head scan. This can be used for radiotherapy treatment planning without the need for a CT scan. The example was shown by Siemens at the ASTRO 2021 meeting this week. MRI is a much better imaging technology to visualize soft tissues, so it offers more detailed information on soft tissue cancers.
