Apr 10, 2021 · I did a fresh install of Win 10 Pro (64bit), and downloaded the drivers from the motherboard's support page (also 64bit installers). After i extract them and launch "AsusSetup", nothing happens at all. The install wizard is not coming up. It's the same for all drivers (LAN, chipset, audio etc). I also deactivated all Antivirus stuff.

A year later, I did the download thing and installed mobo drivers and updated the soundcard drivers. I have Corsair Void Pro wired usb headset, and cheap speakers from Best Buy. I did not notice any difference, or gain anything useful application wise, but it didn't hurt anything. YMMV depending on your specific uses. Edit: typo

Jul 14, 2022 · Asus refused to send me one until I sent mine in, so I said screw it, returned it to Amazon since it was still in the window, and told them it was defective. Bought a new mobo (ended up getting a TUF Gaming X570 since the B550 didn't have enough front panel connections) and had absolutely no issues once I switched them out.

Jun 1, 2022 · I bet that the driver updater is actively checking for drivers at all times. Probably set to use Windows notifications. It's probably the same component as the firmware updater which is dangerous to do in Windows as an application crash could potentially brick your motherboard.
