Visitors who arrive on foot can enter at the main entrance at 3001 Connecticut Ave, NW or the Harvard Street Bridge entrance. Biking or Scootering to the Zoo Bike racks are located near the Visitor Center and at Lion-Tiger Hill.

Every Zoo visitor must have a free entry pass to come inside the Zoo. We recommend you book Entry Passes online ahead of your visit, but a limited number of walk-up entry passes are available each day at the pedestrian entrances to the Zoo.

Oct 7, 2024 · Zoo staff will scan tickets at both the Connecticut Avenue entrance and the lower entrance near the Kids’ Farm. Metro Bus (L1 and L2) and Metro Rail (Woodley Park-Zoo and Cleveland Park) have stops within walking distance of the Zoo’s main pedestrian entrance on Connecticut Avenue.

Free Entry Passes are still available and visitors may purchase Parking Passes at the Zoo (subject to availability). Due to high demand, line access for the Giant Panda Habitat may close early. Arrive with time to spare for the best chance to see the bears.
