Feb 6, 2024 · damn, i expected some heavy hardware modding and comparison of parts between both decks. my question for you is did you try putting oled fan inside the LCD deck version? you'd have to use some sort of voltage booster to get 5 volts from fan header to 6 volts that is needed for the oled fan. considering that newer fan is quieter, it would be a nice upgrade with minimal amount of modding.

However, the steam deck os is Linux based and so many of the modding options available on windows are not on this. Most modding works fine, it's just harder to get third party mod mangers like vortex and MO2 working, due to the quirks the proton compatibility layer imposes on file systems and the like.

I was using right click on the EXE and "add to steam". Now my issue is that the "Mods" setting page still doesn't show up and still does not activate any of the mods.

Set Skyrim settings to low/med at 1280x800, OR high/ultra and reduce the resolution to 1024x640. If you do this, use the steam deck's FSR Scaling settings in the performance menu to bring the resolution back up to 1280x800.
