In 1991, McKee Baking Company became McKee Foods Corporation. Ellsworth McKee, the son of company-founder O.D. McKee, took over, but retired from day-to-day operations in September 2012 and retains the position of company chairman.

Most of McKee Foods' 6,400 employees are based out of locations in four states. These strategic locations allow the company to deliver fresher products all over the United States and Canada.

The McKee Foods story began in 1934 when O.D. McKee and his wife, Ruth (pictured above on the left), bought Jack's Cookie Company, a small bakery in Chattanooga, Tenn., and started baking small cakes.
