Oct 5, 2024 · My horse has recently been diagnosed with navicular in the Bursa. He has adhesions in the region indicating it’s been going on for a little while now. It took us an about 4 months to figure out what it was. Originally we suspected soft tissue injury but after getting MRI he was diagnosed with Navicular disease.

When I looked on their concentration amount of Sodium pentosan polysulfate, it is half that of Zycosan, so would need to give 10 ccs per horse rather than 5 ccs per horse (but still cheaper). This is such a big deal to me and wanted to get any insight before ordering.

Jun 22, 2017 · Dry lot for 22 hours per day and then out early AM and in the evening when sugars are lower in the grass. We have an IR horse (20yrs old) as well a foundered horse and they have wonderful healthy feet with minimal pasture turn out and slow feeders for their hay.

Oct 9, 2019 · Make sure your horse is getting adequate amounts of essential amino acids (a 'complete protein' like whey protein powder), and has trace minerals balanced in the diet. Biotin also helps. A slow feeder or slow-feed bag for your hay/forage can help your horse not go through 'gorge and starve' moments. Remove excessive carbohydrates from the diet.

But again, making a clinical recommendation based on the horse in front of you. I'm sorry you had an experience with a bad vet, who had more interest in making money than in the interest of the horse.

Apr 15, 2010 · As for gullet size, 6 1/2 - 7 covers semi QH, regular QH, and FQH bars. A FQH bar is going to be at least 7" and made to fit a more mutton withered horse. My Corriente is a 7" FQH bar Wade tree saddle and it is too wide for my 15.2h 1050lb QH.
