May 9, 2021 · I currently have two triggerfish, albeit in separate tanks: a 2" clown triggerfish in quarantine, and an 8" blueline trigger in my main 125 gallon. I'm currently setting up a 270 gallon tub (6' L x 3' W x 2' H) with the intention of moving both fish to it within the next month and keeping them in it long term.
Anyone Raise a Juvenile CLOWN TRIGGER? (I need advice)
Mar 8, 2021 · Removing the the CLOWN Trigger would be no problem if any conflicts results. The worry I have is a chance the Clown Trigger will attack the delicate swimming Box Fish. I do understand that a Box fish can release a deadly toxin and wipe out all fish in the tank (Possibly killing my two very Special Picasso clowns raised for over two years)

Jan 7, 2023 · Clown triggers don't really grow that fast and don't end up being that large, will stay well below 10". Many times you will find other variables like too small of tank and inappropriate tankmates will lead to the negative reports. 300g is a nice tank for a clown trigger and they'll likely pay no mind to a zebra eel.

Jun 19, 2010 · Clown triggers are considered by many to be one of the most aggressive triggers. I know of more than one account of a clown trigger killing pretty much anything that wasn't bigger and more aggressive than it was. The other problem with them is they will flip, dig, and rearrange anything in a tank that isn't nailed down in search of food.

Dec 4, 2016 · Your worries w/a clown trigger are going to be centered more around other inverts (urchins, shrimp, crabs, prob clams) and of course other fish...both the ability to prey on smaller, slower fish and then the territoriality w/others.

It’s almost like he’s trying to run from something or thinks there is another trigger in the territory from the aquarium reflection and attacks. He is big and fast, he hits the glass so hard and fast almost sounds like he cracked the glass.

Apr 19, 2013 · Clown triggers get big as well. LiveAquaria recommends a 300 gallon tank with a potential max size of 20"! With that size tank I wouldn't recommend a clown trigger at all. When they are cramped like that they can get really aggressive. If you are set on the clown you might be better off with a species tank.
