Macy’s, Kohl’s to shut stores as part of plan targeting underperforming locations
Macy’s and Kohl’s are closing one store each in Colorado as part of the department store chains’ plans to dump underperforming stores this year. Macy’s released a list Thursday of 66 closures that includes the store at the Northfield Stapleton shopping center in Denver.

The company did not say when the Kingston Macy's would close, and a manager at the location said staff had not been given a closure date, but declined further comment.

Macy’s is closing 66 stores starting in January as a part of its “A Bold New Chapter” plan. The company announced this latest development Thursday as it struggles to keep up in the retail market as a result of declining sales, according to a statement from Macy’s.
