Forward Joseph Tugler was named the Big 12's Defensive Player of the Year and guard L.J. Cryer was the league's Scholar-Athlete of the Year for his performance on the court and in the classroom. Cryer was joined on the All-Big 12 first team by forward J'Wan Roberts.

With one more win, the Cougars will become the second program to repeat as outright Big 12 champs, redeeming a coach's pivotal decisions.
