As Los Angeles continues to grapple with devastating wildfires, music legend Clive Davis is being blasted for pushing forward with his glitzy annual pre-Grammy gala – with critics branding the move “tone-deaf and self-indulgent”.

The Recording Academy says each of its events will have a fundraising element to support those impacted by the wildfires.

Sony, Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group and BMG have all canceled their Grammy-related events this year due to the tragedy. Universal artist The Weekend canceled his Rose Bowl concert scheduled for Jan. 25, and postponed the release of his new album to Jan. 31.
