A new year means fresh movies on Netflix, which always shakes up the top 10 as viewers rush to check out the latest releases. After dominating the charts for weeks, the holiday thriller “Carry-On” has just been bumped from the top 10, making room for some other gems to take the spotlight on the streaming service.

With the holidays firmly in the rearview mirror, the start of the spring movie season still months away, and much of the entertainment industry laser-focused on the Oscar race, January is often a barren time for new film releases.

Every year, Netflix releases hundreds of movies, which is both good and bad because some of the best ones can get lost in the shuffle. As someone who watches as much as he can yearly, I share my favorite Netflix original movies of 2024.
