U.S. stock indexes are rising Friday as they head toward the close of their best week in two months. The S&P 500 was 0.9% higher in early trading and on track for its first winning week in the last three.

Asian shares are mixed after gains for oil-and-gas producers helped offset drops for Nvidia and other Big Tech companies on Wall Street.

U.S. stock indexes drifted lower Thursday following a mixed set of earnings reports from Morgan Stanley, UnitedHealth Group and other big companies. The S&P 500 slipped 0.2% after flipping between small gains and losses through the day.
