LOGAN, Utah >> In the 32-degree chill, Hawaii coach Timmy Chang stood outside the visitors’ locker room at Maverik Stadium, seemingly frozen in disbelief.

In a word, Utah State was exceptional against Hawaii. The Aggies were nearly flawless in their 55-10 victory, and what mistakes they did make didn’t matter much. It was, after all, USU’s most dominant victory since 2018.

The University of Hawaii football team’s thin bowl hopes were thoroughly dismantled in a 55-10 loss at Utah State on Saturday. Hawaii dropped to 4-7 overall and 2-4 in Mountain West Conference play, while Utah State improved to 3-7 overall, including 2-3 in Mountain West games.

There was Darwin Thompson in 2018, who rushed for 1,044 yards (6.8 yards per carry) and 14 touchdowns and caught 23 passes for 351 yards (15.3 yards per reception) and two touchdowns in his lone season as an Aggie.
