CLEVELAND, Ohio – After checking with some of my NBA contacts (not with the Cavs), here’s what I heard about Cavs draft pick Tyrese Proctor:

After sitting out the first round of the 2025 NBA Draft, the Cavaliers picked Duke guard Tyrese Proctor in the second round (No. 49 overall) on June 26. The Cavs didn't have a first-round selection to use on June 25 because they traded it in September 2022 as part of their blockbuster deal with the Utah Jazz for six-time All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell.

The Cleveland Cavaliers drafted two players in the second round on June 26, and general manager Mike Gansey discussed how the Cavs view the prospects.
