SILVERSTONE, UK — Lando Norris won a wet and wild British Grand Prix at Silverstone, where his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri lost a race he had dominated due to a penalty for an incident involving polesitter Max Verstappen.

The lead car can dictate the pace of the restart, but Piastri was pinged by race stewards for "suddenly" braking. He received a 10-second time penalty, which he served during a pitstop. As a result, McLaren teammate Lando Norris took the race lead and went on to claim victory in his home Grand Prix.

Lando Norris survived an incident-packed race in the rain to win Formula 1’s British Grand Prix on Sunday and cut the gap to his teammate and title rival Oscar Piastri.
