Paris Olympics 2024 medallist Manu Bhaker's maternal grandmother and uncle died in a road accident on Sunday, January 19. The accident happened in Charkhi Dadri, Haryana on Sunday.

Indian shooter Manu Bhaker has spoken out about the quality of Olympic medals after her bronze medals from the Paris Games began to peel. The issue has been raised by various athletes, prompting the IOC to announce replacements.

The other Indian medal winners from the Paris Olympics Swapnil Kusale & Sarabjot Singh have complained that the colour of their medals had started to come off.

Manu Bhaker described an Olympic medal as the "biggest souvenir" an athlete can achieve and hence their quality will be of the highest quality. On Friday, January 17, the young shooter was honoured with the esteemed Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna award by President Droupadi Murmu.
