Denis Villeneuve finally gets to do his own take on James Bond. In 2017, he revealed he’d been in talks to direct a Bond film, but it had fallen through because of his commitment to Dune. With the third (and presumably final) Dune shooting this summer and coming out next winter,

Denis Villeneuve is going from Dune to 007. The filmmaker has been tapped to direct the next James Bond movie, the first from Amazon MGM Studios. Tanya Lapointe, Villeneuve’s artistic partner and wife, will serve as an executive producer, along with Villeneuve. As previously announced, Amy Pascal and David Heyman will serve as producers.
