Disney had a Hollywood “premiere” for its new live-action “Snow White” that did not have the usual excitement — no guests were on hand; only Disney’s employees were present.

“Snow White,” a Walt Disney Co. release is rated PG by the Motion Picture Association for violence, some peril, thematic elements and brief rude humor. Running time: 109 minutes.

Snow White’s empathetic friendship with the apparently mute Dopey works like a charm, which compensates for the general comic unfunniness of the dwarfs chaos. The whole film is a 50/50 proposition.
