For the second day in a row, UFCW Local 7 and King Soopers are working on bargaining a new contract for more than 10,000 King Soopers employees across Colorado.
Management at the Kroger-owned chain is demanding extensive concessions, especially from part-time workers, while the union has failed to put forward its own wage demands.
Thursday the contract between Bing Soopers and the union expires. They will continue negotiations today, but they only have until midnight to reach a deal.
Today talks will also continue between grocery store workers and King Soopers to work out a new contract. Their deadline is now tomorrow after getting a two-week extension.
