Bill Nye, the beloved television personality known as Bill Nye the Science Guy, was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Joe Biden.

The award recognizes exceptional contributions to the prosperity, values, and security of the United States, world peace, or other significant societal achievements.

Hillary Clinton, Ralph Lauren, Magic Johnson, Bill Nye and José Andrés will also be awarded the nation's highest civilian honor Saturday.

Yesterday (January 4), President Joe Biden awarded 19 new recipients the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor.
