Michelle Trachtenberg got emotional about starring in 'Harriet the Spy' with Rosie O'Donnell on the film's 25th anniversary.

While Gene Hackman and Quincy Jones received stand-alone memorial tributes during Sunday’s Academy Awards telecast, but several other notables did not appear in the show’s annual “in memoriam” segment.

Trachtenberg knew what it was like to be a kid who wants to be seen, who is aching to be understood. And in “Harriet the Spy,” she gave a voice to every single child who felt the same way.

Michelle Trachtenberg, the actor known for "Gossip Girl," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Harriet the Spy" died Wednesday. She was 39.
