Ricky Gervais has revealed the ‘brutal’ jokes he would have used if he were hosting this year’s Golden Globes awards. The event, taking place this evening in the US, marks the kick-off to this year’s award season proper, with it only a few months until the Oscars.

Gervais hosted the Golden Globes in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2016 and 2020. During his last hosting stint, Gervais roasted Hollywood in his wild opening monologue. He went after Leonardo DiCaprio for dating younger women, the failed “Cats” movie, and Martin Scorsese’s feud with Marvel.
