Pakistan has stated its intention to“formally recommend” U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, on account of his role in helping India and Pakistan reach a cease-fire after conflict between the two long-time rivals resurged earlier this year.

Pakistan condemned on Sunday the strikes ordered on its neighbour Iran by Donald Trump, a day after Islamabad had said it would nominate the U.S. President for the Nobel Peace Prize. Pakistan on Sunday said Trump's decision to bomb Iranian nuclear facilities violated international law and that diplomacy was the only way to resolve the Iran crisis.

Pakistan has formally recommended US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, citing his “decisive diplomatic intervention” after a spike in violence between India and Pakistan earlier this year.
