Little more than a month after a tragic air disaster took the lives of 28 members of the US figure skating community, emotions were on full display Sunday in Washington, DC, for the “Legacy on Ice” tribute.

A star-studded group of some of the best U.S. figure skaters of the past and present took the ice in the nation's capital to remember and raise money for the victims of the midair collision outside Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

Nathan Chen, Kristi Yamaguchi, Scott Hamilton, Brian Boitano and Peggy Fleming spoke to TODAY about the victims of the January plane crash from the skating world.
