The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) announced its readiness to manage the clearance and settlement of options on spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

Following the United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) clearing the way for spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund, or ETF, options, the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) said it was preparing the launch of the investment vehicles.

The whole idea behind Spot Bitcoin ETF Options is to lend exposure to BTC, without having to hold the underlying asset. The Options will also pave the way for more speculation in the market. A potential outcome could be more volatility and amplified price swings.

According to an ETF analyst, spot Bitcoin ETF options have passed the "second hurdle" after the CFTC "cleared the way" for the products.

Nasdaq Inc. is planning to list options on BlackRock Inc.’s Bitcoin exchange-traded fund, possibly as soon as Tuesday, allowing investors to use derivatives to bet on or against the world’s largest digital asset.

BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF options will finally go live on the Nasdaq stock exchange, maybe as soon as tomorrow. Alison Hennessy, Nasdaq’s head of ETP listings, dropped the news on Bloomberg’s ETF IQ. “Getting these options listed on IBIT into the market I think will be very exciting for investors because that’s really what we have
