Lenovo will finally launch its first-of-its-kind concept rollable this year after first announcing a prototype in October 2022.

Lenovo has been on a roll. The Beijing-based tech company consistently debuts some of the most exciting and innovative laptops at CES every year, from the 2020 ThinkBook Plus with an "E Ink" display on its lid to 2023's dual-screened Yoga Book 9i and twistable ThinkBook Plus. Last year, it brought us a ThinkBook with snap-on attachments.

I can confidently say Lenovo’s ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 stole the show for me at CES. I knew it the second I hit a button on the keyboard and saw the concept-turned-real laptop extend its rollable OLED display upward — motors whirring motors and a dumb smile forming on my face.

The ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 goes from prototype to proper product with a screen that grows taller at the touch of a button, or with the wave of a hand.

Lenovo announced a handful of new additions this week, including a rollable laptop and a sleek new ultraportable that squares with the MacBook Air.

But one product that seems to have got tech writers' collective hearts all aflutter is Lenovo's new 'rollable screen' laptop. The idea of the rollable screen isn't entirely new – we've seen concepts for mobile phones that make use of the expanding screen tech.

The ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 looks like a normal laptop on the surface, but its 'rollable' display extends to provide almost 50% more screen real estate.
