Smith hadn't topped 582 receiving yards in a single season prior to his 2024 breakout. Now he rejoins Arthur Smith, current offensive play caller for the Steelers, and a coach whom he spent time playing for both in Atlanta and Tennessee. However, that might not be such a good thing.

On Monday, the Miami Dolphins dealt cornerback Jalen Ramsey and tight end Jonnu Smith to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for three-time first-team All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and a 2027 pick swap.

Because in another trade stacked on top of that one, the Steelers acquired 2024 Pro Bowl tight end Jonnu Smith. For the Dolphins, they avoid paying (or extending) Smith. From a football fit, it's an intriguing reunion for Smith and his former Falcons coach, Arthur Smith, who now coordinates the Steelers offense.
