On 14th November, the entire nation celebrates the birth anniversary of India's first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Schools and educational institutions organise Various functions and events to honour his legacy.

Children's day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Nehru, who was fond of children. He came to be known as ‘Chacha Nehru’ He had a deep affection for children and also enjoyed spending time with them.

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, a steadfast advocate for children's education and rights, was posthumously honoured in 1964 when the government declared his birth anniversary as Children's Day.
