After falling two spots from their initial position in the 2025 NBA draft lottery, the Brooklyn Nets would like to use the trade market to improve the spot where they will pick in the first round. Per NBA insider Jake Fischer, rival teams have mentioned the Nets as a "likely" trade-up candidate from the No. 8 spot.

After much anticipation, the Nets drew the eighth overall pick in the Draft after initially entering the event with the sixth overall pick prior to the Lottery odds shifting matters. To be clear, Brooklyn had a 29.

When Brooklyn general manager Sean Marks and team governor Joe Tsai pivoted and made the tough decision to tank this season for a high draft pick, it ended up giving them the sixth-best odds.
