A champion of women in sport, Gabrielle Apelu was one of the pioneers of women's rugby in Samoa and knows the challenges, inequality, harassment and even abuse that many women in sport face today.

Fay Cowling and Kayla Reyneke were equally effective, each claiming two wickets in their two overs and the collective effort from the bowling unit left Samoa with no room to build momentum.
