Paramount president/CEO Chris McCarthy sent a letter to employees telling them that Showtime will no longer do sports beyond the end of the year, which spells the end of boxing and MMA on the network.

Showtime's linear network, which launched more than four decades ago, will officially get a new name on January 8, 2024.

Showtime Sports, which has long produced and broadcast some of the biggest events in boxing, is shutting down after nearly four decades of operation.
