Tesla, IBM and Meta Platforms helped lead most U.S. stocks higher on Thursday following a rush of profit reports from some of the country’s most influential companies. The S&P 500 rose 0.5%, as four out of every five stocks in the index climbed.

Wall Street analysts see AI boosting Meta's performance this year. The tech titan could also be a big winner amid the drama swirling around TikTok.

This month, Zuckerberg also announced that Meta will shut down its third-party fact-checking teams in an effort to “restore free expression” to its social media platforms. He justified the move by saying that many of the fact checkers had shown too much political bias and “destroyed more trust than they’ve created.”
