India had launched Operation Sindoor on May 7. It came in response to the deadly attack in Kashmir's Pahalgam that killed 26 people on April 22.

Hindon and 31 other key airports located near border areas have been temporarily closed for passenger flights. As a result, on May 11 alone, 96 domestic flights had to be canceled from Delhi Airport 52 of which were scheduled for takeoff.

Indian airlines have canceled hundreds of flights from more than two dozen airports until Saturday amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan.
