The College Football Playoff committee releases its initial rankings Tuesday, and there will be plenty of debate among fans and pundits in the following days.

In every college basketball season since 2012, at least one team that began the season ranked in the AP Top 25 has failed to reach the NCAA Tournament. In the past three years alone, there were 13 teams ranked in the preseason that didn't reach March Madness.

Critics have complained, “We don’t get to know the players” since the NBA Draft age limit was introduced in 2006, which launched the age of the one-and-done talent. It has been exacerbated, though, by the instant eligibility aspect of the transfer portal.
