South Korean fighter jets mistakenly dropped eight bombs on a civilian district on Thursday, injuring 15 people and damaging houses and a church during military exercises in Pocheon, the Air Force and fire agency said.

The South Korean Air Force confirms that a pilot error was the root cause of an incident where a fighter jet mistakenly dropped artillery bombs in a residential area.

The MK-82 bombs ‘abnormally’ released by the KF-16 fighter jet fell outside a firing range, causing civilian damages, the air force said in a statement
