Former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick signed his term sheet to be the next coach at the University of North Carolina. However, according to CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones, he has yet to sign his final contract with the school.

Although it was reported last month that Belichick's contract was worth $50 million over the next five years, reports have surfaced that Belichick's contract remains unsigned. Last week, there were reports that multiple NFL clubs, including the Las Vegas Raiders, were interested in Belichick.

Belichick famously spurned the New York Jets after he was named Bill Parcells’s successor. His tenure lasted less than 24 hours after he wrote his resignation on a napkin and jumped ship to take over the New England Patriots. This move paid off handsomely.

Bill Belichick’s UNC deal is unofficially official. The former Patriots coach has yet to sign the five-year contract he agreed to last month to be UNC’s next head coach, CBS Sports reported on Tuesday.

Could it work with the Raiders? Belichick has made clear his respect for Al Davis. His son, Mark Davis, could with the influence of Brady give Belichick whatever he wants and needs in order to thrive. And if that means moving on from G.M. Tom Telesco, maybe Davis would do it.
