Rockstar Games is delaying the highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto VI to May 26th, 2026. The game had originally been planned to release in fall 2025, but Rockstar Games now says the team needs extra time “to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve.”

Rockstar has tonight announced Grand Theft Auto 6’s release date confirming that the game will release on May 26, 2026 which is over a year away. The announcement was made on the company’s website alongside a statement that confirms that the company knows that this is later than expected but that the goal is to exceed expectations and that the team needs extra time to deliver the quality we expect and deserve.
