SACATON, AZ (AZFamily) — The Gila River Indian Community issued a declaration of emergency as the government shutdown continues, creating a lapse in critical SNAP funding.
The Community Council approved a resolution to give a "general assistance payment" to all adult community members who are 18 years old and older as of Nov. 1.
