YouTube said Disney used the threat of a blackout as a negotiating tactic that would have resulted in higher prices for its subscribers.

YouTube TV has emailed Disney proposing to restore both ABC and ESPN while negotiations continue, if Disney agrees.

The standoff is being widely seen as a major test of consumer appetite for Disney’s direct-to-consumer streaming apps, including ESPN+, Hulu and Disney+.
