While far from an uneven franchise’s worst, “Jurassic World Rebirth” has a peculiar sense of pacing and a grim endurance-test tone.

Rebirth poised to stomp back into theaters, the spotlight is once again on cinema's favorite prehistoric predators. While the Jurassic franchise continues to dominate popular imagination, it's hardly the only game in town when it comes to dino-driven storytelling.

"Jurassic World Rebirth," in theaters Wednesday, has a few clever moments of dinosaur mayhem but nothing at heart to make those moments worthwhile.
