It's known as Cape Verde in the English-speaking world. It’s Kap Verde in Finland, Sweden, and Germany. And in Italy, it’s Capo Verde.

The name "Capo" comes from the Italian word for "boss," which is what Fields said her family referred to her as in her youth. But the name really is a hat tip to her dad, who died in 2014.
