Serbia's student-led protests against President Aleksandar Vučić gathered more steam on Saturday, as professors joined those who are demanding justice for the collapse of the canopy of the Novi Sad train station that killed 15 people last November.

The uprising of tens of thousands of young Serbs outraged at corruption and civil liberties violations is a growing challenge to Aleksandar Vučić's government.

The complainants claim that Vučić previously encouraged motorists to drive through crowds of protesting students.

A driver rammed his car into a crowd and seriously injured a young woman during daily student-led protests and traffic blockades that have been held throughout Serbia following the collapse in November of a concrete canopy in the country’s north that killed 15 people.

The injured student was part of a group of demonstrators protesting against the government and showing solidarity with victims of the November 1 tragedy in Novi Sad.
