(Reuters) -Indian carmaker Tata Motors' shares plummeted about 9% to a 14-month low on Thursday, after its third-quarter results set off growth and margin concerns for its luxury Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) segment.

Tata Motors shares: For the auto giant, the outlook remains dim. Tata Motors reported another muted quarterly performance as net profits dropped by 22% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 5,451 crore.

Indian automaker Tata Motors reported a 22% drop in third-quarter profit on Wednesday, hurt by the bigger discounts it offered to boost sales across its domestic and luxury car businesses. The company's profit fell to Rs 5,451 cr ($630 million) in the quarter from Rs 7,025 crore a year before.

Shares of Tata Motors Ltd slipped 9% in early deals to their fresh 52-week low on Thursday as Q3 earnings fell below street estimates. Tata Motors stock fell 9.06% to Rs 684.25 against the previous close of Rs 752.45. On BSE, 3.98 lakh shares changed hands amounting to a turnover of Rs 27.74 crore.

Results: Profit fell short of ET Now's estimate of Rs 6,791 crore, while revenue rose 3% YoY to Rs 1.13 lakh crore. Consolidated EBITDA rose to Rs 15,500 crore, driven by easing supply challenges. CV revenues fell 8.

(Reuters) -Indian carmaker Tata Motors reported third-quarter profit below market expectations on Wednesday, weighed down by weakness in its luxury Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) business and as car sales slowed down at home.

For the quarter under review, Tata Motor’s profit after tax (PAT) stood at Rs 5,578 crore, down from Rs 7,145 crore in the year-ago period. It rose, however, on a sequential basis. Chief Financial Officer PB Balaji said that the performance of all businesses improved sequentially in Q5 FY25.

The company reported a 22% drop in consolidated net profit to ₹5,578 crore. It posted a net profit of ₹7,415 crore in the same period last year.
