The Austin Police Department said it was investigating a homicide that occurred last week in east Austin. APD said officers responded to a call and found a man, later identified as 20-year-old Matthew Escalante,

Police say Matthew Escalante was killed when he arrived to meet someone on Rosewood Avenue and was shot by a suspect who fled the scene.
