More than 20 people have been arrested during a protest in London in support of Palestine Action, a group which has been banned under UK anti-terrorism laws

More than 20 people have been arrested in London after what police described as a protest in support of the banned group Palestine Action. The Metropolitan Police said those arrested were being held on suspicion of offences under the Terrorism Act 2000 and had been taken into custody.

Multiple people were today arrested at an originally-silent Palestine Action protest on Parliament Square.A mass of Metropolitan Police officers circled around dozens of protesters standing quietly beneath the statue of Mahatma Ghandi in central London.
