After a historic game, the Ottawa Charge looks to use home ice to push the Montreal Victoire to the brink of elimination in the PWHL Semifinals. Game 2 was one of the greatest postseason games in professional hockey history, men’s or women’s, and saw a surprising name play the hero in the Mother’s Day Marathon.

Shiann Darkangelo broke a third-period tie, Gwyneth Philips made 31 saves and the Ottawa Charge beat the Montreal Victoire 3-2 on Thursday night in Game 1 of the PWHL semifinal series.

The game set a Canadian professional women’s hockey record for the longest ever, passing a Canadian Women’s Hockey League semifinal in 2018.
