DETROIT – Detroit Red Wings goaltender Alex Lyon returned to practice Tuesday and appears close to returning to the lineup. Lyon has missed two games with a lower-body injury suffered in practice last week. “Just had a little hiccup there, but feeling better now and body’s good to go and excited and itching to get a start,” Lyon said.

Alex Lyon returned to practice Tuesday, after having suffered a lower-body injury Thursday. That forced the Wings to recall Ville Husso from Grand Rapids the next day, with Cam Talbot starting Friday and Husso Saturday, while Lyon was getting healthy.

Lyon (lower body) is expected to start on the road against Anaheim on Friday, according to Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press. Lyon last played between the pipes Oct. 30 when he stopped 23 of 29 shots en route to a 6-2 loss to Winnipeg.
