Erik and Lyle Menendez have had their sentences reduced and are now eligible for parole. Per the BBC, Los Angeles judge Michael Jesic resentenced the brothers on Tuesday to 50 years to life in prison.

The killings of the entertainment executive and his wife in their wealthy Beverly Hills neighborhood were brutal. Their son Lyle Menendez was the one who called 911, with the brothers initially claiming the killing was Mafia-related or connected to their father’s business dealings.

Days ahead of the start of their resentencing hearing, Lyle Menendez posted a cryptic Mother's Day message as he looks to see life outside of prison walls for the 1989 murder of his parents.
