Thirty-two international researchers participated in a study that evaluated how climate change affected the fires that incinerated parts of Pacific Palisades, Altadena, Malibu as well as other areas of Los Angeles.

A new report suggests that climate change-induced factors, like reduced rainfall, primed conditions for the Palisades and Eaton fires.

Although pieces of the analysis include degrees of uncertainty, researchers said trends show climate change increased the likelihood of the fires.
