The Cannes Film Festival opened on Tuesday for its 78th edition drawing in much of the cinema world, from Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio to renowned filmmaker Quentin Tarantino. View on euronews

Along with Binoche, the other eight jurors include Halle Berry and Jeremy Strong, who was unable to attend Cannes last year for the premiere of his Trump film “The Apprentice.” Strong referenced that film, which led to his first Oscar nomination, in his comments on the American president Tuesday.

Robert De Niro was joined by girlfriend Tiffany Chen at the Cannes Film Festival, where they held hands during a photocall for his Honorary Palme d'Or.
